Designing your oak framed building
Whatever type of building you are looking for, we will spend quality time with you in your space to create a design you love that makes the best use of your resources.
Our designers will create concept sketches to bring your oak frame building to life. This will help you visualise your new space while accounting for planning considerations, local authority regulations and conservation restrictions.
This is an exciting part of the process for everyone, so we allow plenty of time for you to enjoy it and discuss everything in detail. Throughout the process, we offer expert advice and guide you through each step. Once planning approvals are given (if relevant), we will work on your detailed drawings, ensuring even the smallest oak peg is accounted for.

Roof styles
We combine the latest technology in breathable roofing felt with time -honoured methods and materials to provide a guaranteed weatherproof, attractive finish to your building’s roof. We finish all hipped roofs with bonnet tiles.
Choose from a wide range of new clay tiles, both hand- and machine-made, or from a selection of reclaimed tiles. Other options include slate, cedar shingles, and thatching.
Door styles
Your doors can make a significant difference to your oak frame building’s appearance. Our doors are designed in-house and manufactured in our workshop, ensuring they perfectly match your building and will weather in a similar way.
Choose from a wide range of styles, from traditional to modern.
Window options
Whether it’s a chance to frame a view, enhance the architecture or flood your space with light, windows play a significant part in your oak framed building’s design. Our designers will be on hand to help you choose the perfect windows for your building.
Cladding
The green oak feather edge cladding on the sides of your Eavoak buildings ensure a long and maintenance-free life without the need for timber treatments or painting. All that is visible on the exterior of the building is oak: the posts, beams, curved braces, and cladding. Because everything is made of oak, the building starts life as one colour and fades evenly to a silvery grey hue. If you prefer your new oak framed building to match your house, we can clad it with black-painted softwood.

Solar PV
Solar PV (also known as solar panels) are a practical and cost-effective renewable energy source. They allow you to increase your building’s energy efficiency while reducing carbon emissions.
We can connect your solar panel system to other renewable energy systems such as battery storage, EV chargers and solar-assisted heat pumps so you can get the most out of your solar energy while saving on your electricity bills.
Air source heat pumps
An air-source heat pump draws heat from the air outside and transfers it into usable heat inside. This heat is used to heat radiators, underfloor heating, hot water, and warm air convectors in your home. An Air-Source Heat Pump can extract heat from temperatures as low as -20ºC and provide all your heating and hot water needs 365 days a year.
Your air source heat pump requires electricity but consumes significantly less than traditional heating systems. It can also be run from the energy captured by solar panels. This can result in lower energy bills and reduced carbon emissions, contributing to a greener and more sustainable environment.
Green roof systems
Improve your building’s performance and the local environment with a green roof. A green roof will help your oak-framed building cope with extremes of temperature more effectively – helping reduce heat loss in the winter and minimise heat gain during the summer. A green roof can also help with potential drainage issues on your land – the plants use the rainfall instead of letting it run off onto the ground.
