Trainee Carpenter

We are seeking a trainee site carpenter to join the Eavoak team of carpenters in constructing high quality traditional oak framed outbuildings across Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex. We offer on site training to develop your carpentry skills. This is a salaried position offering full employment benefits including 28 days paid holiday annually.

We are seeking a trainee site carpenter to join the Eavoak team of carpenters in constructing high quality traditional oak framed outbuildings across Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex. We offer on site training to develop your carpentry skills. This is a salaried position offering full employment benefits including 28 days paid holiday annually.

Duties

  • Assist with the fabrication and assembly of wooden structures and components using hand tools and power tools
  • Support the installation of joinery and other carpentry elements on-site
  • Handle heavy lifting and manoeuvre building materials safely around the site
  • Aid in the preparation and cleaning of work areas to maintain safety standards
  • Follow instructions from senior team members to ensure project specifications are met accurately
  • Contribute to site safety protocols and assist with general site maintenance

Skills

  • Basic understanding of fabrication, assembly, and carpentry techniques
  • NVQ level 2 or level 3 diploma in site carpentry preferable
  • Own transport and current driving license essential
  • Experience or familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in construction
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
  • Good organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn new skills within a construction environment
  • Strong teamwork ethic and good communication skills
