Groundwork / General Builder

EAVOAK, an established and respected oak frame business based in Hampshire, is seeking an experienced and proactive professional to join our Groundworks Division. This is a hands on role within a growing company known for craftsmanship, quality, and exceptional client service.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced general builder with strong groundworks knowledge to help us deliver client projects to a high standard. You will assist with the full groundworks process — from pricing and planning to on site delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with groundwork preparations, including site clearance and excavation
  • Assisting in the preparation and pricing of groundworks packages for clients
  • Working closely with the Operations Manager to schedule works
  • Providing accurate materials lists to the office for ordering
  • Organising machinery hire as needed
  • Carrying out roofing tasks, including fixing tiles, sheeting, and leadwork
  • Undertaking masonry work including bricklaying, blockwork, and concrete finishing
  • Operating hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
  • Maintaining a clean and organised work area to uphold health and safety standards
  • Maintaining a professional, client focused manner — we deliver a high end product
  • Leading and supporting a small team (2–3 people)
  • Ensuring smooth, efficient, and high quality project delivery

What we’re looking for

  • Strong background in general building and groundworks
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings or plans preferred
  • Proactive, organised, and able to take the lead on projects
  • A team player with excellent communication skills
  • Professional, reliable, and committed to high standards
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently or whilst instructing a small team
  • Physical fitness to perform manual labour over extended periods in various weather conditions
  • Must have a full uk driving licence.

What We Offer

  • Permanent full time hours Mon-Fri
  • Attractive salary: £40,000 per annum
  • Pension and holiday pay
